The usual method of pressure-sensitive adhesive holding test is to measure the time for a tape to fall off the test board under a certain area and a fixed load. The test result expressed in time has a great influence on the test temperature and test load. Through actual tests, the holding power of hot melt pressure sensitive adhesives is much lower than that of crosslinked waterborne pressure sensitive adhesives and solvent pressure sensitive adhesives.
The repeatability of the test data is also very poor. It shows that the holding force test of hot melt pressure sensitive adhesive is very sensitive to the test environment and conditions, and the test results are only comparable under the same test environment and conditions.
